Eligibility & Medical
Before any training begins, confirm you meet all DGCA prerequisites for pilot training in India.
- 12th pass with Physics & Maths (min 50%)
- Class 2 Medical Fitness Certificate
- Minimum age: 17 years
- Valid Indian passport recommended
Student Pilot License (SPL)
The first official license — issued by DGCA after clearing Class 2 medical and submitting documentation to begin solo training.

- Minimum 60 hours required for solo
- Solo flights under instructor supervision
Private Pilot License (PPL)
A significant milestone — PPL allows you to fly as pilot-in-command of non-commercial aircraft with passengers.

Commercial Pilot License (CPL)
The primary professional license — allows you to fly commercially and is required for airline employment.

Aircraft Type Rating
After CPL, airlines require a Type Rating on their specific aircraft (Airbus A320, Boeing 737 etc.) before First Officer role.

Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL)
The highest pilot certification — ATPL requires 1,500 total flying hours, built up over a minimum of 4 years of active flying as a First Officer. Once hours are complete and all ATPL theory exams are cleared, you are eligible for command upgrade to Captain.

Educational Requirements
